Welcome to the portfolio of the Redhawk Studio

I have organized into a few different galleries my current and most recent work. I like to display the best-possible photos with the least editing, so you can see for yourself the expert quality tattoos I have been providing my clients for over 20 years now.

BLACKWORK

Blackwork tattoo art is typically characterized by the use of strictly black ink. I have added more photos, though, of black and grey tattoos, as well as some traditional tattoos because I didn’t want to have too many galleries. I have also added some dotwork tattoos. I try to get pictures of healed tattoos whenever possible.

FLORAL ART

This gallery is for floral and botanical art. I do have quite a lot more so I may add more photos. If you have a healed tattoo I don’t have a picture of please contact me so we can arrange a quick photo shoot! Floral art is one of my favorite styles to do. Make sure, when looking for an artist, that you are critiquing what you see. Some of the things that make a good tattoo are:

  • smooth, dense lines

  • saturated, solid color

  • soft, consistent grey or black shading

Good tattoos last many many years!

GEOMETRIC ART

Perhaps my favorite style is geometric tattoo art. Geometric tattoos are typically characterized by repetitive patterns, whether in bands or circular, that are usually computer-generated. I do use Illustrator for geometric tattoo art, but most of my mandala designs are handmade. I think being handmade adds a more personalized character to the art.

Jeremy Redhawk

Jeremy Redhawk is a traditional artist living in Houston, Texas. He was trained by a master as a teenager and has since kept a continuous painting and drawing practice. Being the son of a draftsman, he discovered an affinity for technical drawing at a very young age. His highly-developed drawing skills led him to pursue a career in tattoo art.

Since 2000, he has developed and sharpened his tattooing skills. Although he specializes in most tattoo styles, his inspiration lies in the religious and spiritual art of the Polynesians and the Native Americans. He spent most summers as a child in New Mexico and was drawn to the simplicity and symbolism in Navajo Art. He studied philosophy, art history, psychology, and mythology at the University of St. Thomas and the University of Houston. He now has a private Tattoo Art Studio in Houston, Texas where he works by appointment only.
