SERVICES

  • is located in The EaDo Workspaces in EaDo Houston.  It is conveniently located off of 59N and 45S, and is within minutes from downtown and many popular downtown attractions.

Creating beautiful works of body art is what I do.  Each tattoo is important no matter how large or small.  I welcome clients from around the world to my space.  It is a calming, relaxing environment meant to give each of my clients a unique experience and to enjoy every visit. The Redhawk Studio is a private studio. I do not take walk-ins, all sessions are by appointment only.

The art of tattooing is a process that requires focus for the artist and the client, so providing a space free from distractions is what makes the Redhawk Studio special.   My studio is a sanctuary for my clients & me, where I can perform my best work for my client.

I have available for clients a large selection of entertainment for the tattoo process, including:

    • AppleTV

    • AmazonPrime

    • Netflix

    • HBO

    • Hulu

    • Spotify

    • AppleMusic

    • A pretty nice collection of Philosophy, Psychology, Mythology, and Art History books.

The comfort of my clients is a priority. I have also pillows, and covers, including a luxury chair for all tattoos.

I take my clients’ safety very seriously. I am licensed with the States of Texas, BBP Certified, and compliant with OSHA standards of bio-hazard waste disposal ( with records upon request).

    PAYMENT

My preferred form of payment is Zelle. I do, of course, accept Cash, ApplePay, and Credit Cards. I do have to charge a 3-4% processing fee for credit cards.

    • All new clients MUST have a consultation before scheduling an appointment session.

    • Because of very high call and text message volume, I cannot take unscheduled phone calls.

    • I take in-person, phone and video consultations, which usually last no more than 15 minutes. The first consultation is complimentary! For each consecutive consultation there will be a $50 fee.

    • All first-time appointments - not consultations - require a $100, non-refundable deposit. Deposit is for time slot and is not applied to the tattoo. I DO NOT take deposits for drawings. Drawings are NOT guaranteed by a certain day. In general, drawings are completed by the day before, sometimes earlier based on the weeks drawing load. All out of town clients MUST have drawings approved no later than a week before appointment. Drawings MUST be approved before appointment day. I DO NOT draw day-of appointments.

    • If you arrive 30 minutes or later for your appointment, it will be automatically rescheduled for a later time or date.

    • I use a text message-based scheduling app, so following your appointment request you will be instructed to send a text to the business line for appointment scheduling.

    • Appointments are generally, but not necessarily, booked for up to a month. All Appointment requests must be confirmed by me. If your appointment is not confirmed, please email me. Sometimes appointments slip through.

    • I don’t mind doing small changes on drawings. Please Acknowledge & Understand, I do not redraw entire drawings, & I do not do multiple drawings per client session. Drawing is just as - & sometimes more - time-consuming than tattooing. If I must redraw entire drawings, I will assume we either did not communicate well, or the client is not sure exactly what they want. In the later case, I recommend to clients that they must take more time and know what they really want before taking my/our time away

    • There is no one-size-fits all pricing. I typically charge PER SESSION. Sessions range from $600-$1200. Each session is priced GENERALLY by estimated time. Minimum hourly rate is $200 per hour and goes up to $250 per hour. I base sessions upon a general hourly rate of $200 per hour. Rate changes based on time, number of sessions, and day of the appointment (weekday vs. weekend).

    • For smaller, single-session tattoos, prices also vary, and I accommodate all I can

TATTOO PORTFOLIO

I have compiled into multiple galleries my prolific output of tattoo art from the past 25 years. I had previously put everything into three galleries, but I felt there needed to be more distinction between each style. As much as possible, anyway. I specialize in tattooing. I learned the craft of tattooing from many different accomplished tattooers over the years. My primary teacher and mentor was Larry Shaw. He taught me extensively about the intricacies of actual tattooing, machine building, and being an ethical tattooer. Everything stems from these three “pillars”. Styles come and go over the years, but what remains - always - is the art (Art is a VERB) of tattooing itself. Styles are not the art. Styles are a “work” of the art, a “product” of the ACT of Art. True tattooing is possessing Mastery in the craft of tattooing, and subsequent Mastery - one-after-another - of each individual style, so as to possess a holistic mastery of tattooing, such that every style unfolds as an authentic variation on the same enduring art.
